Professor Vasilios Antonopoulos was born and raised in Aegio. He was awarded an LL.B. with distinction, from the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an LL.M. from the Law School of Munich, as well as from Max Plank Institut in the field of Industrial and Intellectual Property Law. He received his PhD from the Law School in 1981 with a distinction. The subject of his thesis was «License of registration or use of a Trade Mark».
He next became a Lecturer in the sector of Commercial Law in the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In the following years, he evolved through all levels and he eventually gained the title of Emeritus Professor. His teaching subjects were mainly Corporate Law, Intellectual and Industrial Property Law, Competition Law, e- Commerce Law and Bankruptcy Law. He served as president of the Commercial Law sector of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as a professor in the National School of Judges, since the School’s establishment.
As of today, Vasilios Antonopoulos teaches in the Master Section of the Commercial and Οικονομικού Law in the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is member of the administrative council of the National School of Judges, as well as of the Thessaloniki Port Authority. He is also member of the administrative council of the Association of Law Companies of Greece and member of the Association of Greek Commercialists.
Vasilios Antonopoulos’ has produced ten (10) monographs and approximately eighty (80) publications, mainly on topics of the Commercial Law.
He is a registered member of the Bar Association of Thessaloniki and he has been working as a lawyer since 1973. In the past he has been a partner and a founding member of one of the first law companies of Thessaloniki.
